Worked at it til around 10 pm on Friday after work. Went and helped with Hemp on Saturday. Then spent most of Sunday buffing. Finally got it buffed out and cleaned up at around 8 pm Sunday night.
I think the results were worth it:
Meanwhile my friend is almost done with my dash and fairing so I can get my dash back together and get my roof basket back on. He came up with this for a design:

I’d ask $1000 and take him up on buying it back after being beat to hell.

You need to find a set of these that fit the van:

I could probably make some. I need to get my snorkel modified and find a set of rock sliders first though.....

Compound spray. Too lazy to mask off the windows, easier to just wash the compound off afterwards.

Ya but I would have to want it to begin with.

Looks better than my 4 year old BMW. I don’t know what the PO did to that car, but he was just plain cruel.
Nice work!

I’ve seen a lot of new/newer cars with terrible paint lately. IDK if it’s the owners or if manufacturers are just getting that cheap.

I was lying a little bit. I know exactly what happened, I’m just really upset about it. It was constantly driven through automatic car washes, but they weren’t touchless. So those big, heavy, dirty cloth
s were just scraped across the paint.

Your persistence and work ethic is amazing.

I’ve ran quite a few of my vehicles through the soft-scrub auto washes, never had an issue?

So when are you taking it to Radwood?

When they hold one near me?

It depends on where and how well they keep the brushes clean. My experience is varied, but doing it once a week or every two weeks throughout the year can easily end up looking exactly like what I see on the i3 on unprotected paint.
There’s the distinct possibility that there’s something special about the clear they used on the paint over the carbon fiber, as well. I don’t know. You can see the back and forth motion of the brushes in the scratches, though, so it’s pretty clear what happened.

You realize you probably own the nicest K-Series minivan in the world, right?

Too bad it’s an AS minivan not a K ;)
While I’ll take the compliment, I know it’s far from the nicest one of these out there.

They’re all K’s to me.

Not to me. While they may be based off the K-chassis, they are completel y different bodies. I don’t consider an AS body minivan the same as an Aries K.
It bothers me like no other when people call Non-K-vehicles K-cars. It’s like calling the new Mustang a Fox body to me. Sure they’re related, or evolutions of the platform, but they’re not the same.
